Ski tour of the "4000s" of Zermatt : Breithorn, Castor, Lyskamm, Mont Rose.

This Mont Rose tour allows to discover the "4000s" of Zermatt. That sequence of summits among the higest in the Alps in the Swiss Valais, will throw you in the high mountain country.

That tour is usually done from Zermatt but can also be adapted from Cervinia in Italie.

Here a typical schedule in 5 days:

Day 1 : Breithorn (4164m), Ayas refuge
Day 2 : Castor(4228 m), delicate ridge traverse, Quintino Sella refuge
Day 3 : Liskamm nose and Vincent pyramid (4246 m), toward the Montova refuge.
Day 4 : Signalkuppe or Margerita (Mont Rose, 4554m, and the Gonergratt descent.
Day 5 : Dufourspitze (Mont Rose,4634m), ascent of the highest point of Mont Rose

Be aware that it requires :

a very good shape,
a litle acclimatization,
a good level at ski in all snow conditions
Basic knowledge of walking with crampons

Dates : 1^er april to 15 may.

Group of 4 persons maximum.
