Vincent Rovel Mountain Guide  +33 6 63 53 85 87

Winter covers the mountains with its inviting white coat, attenuating its sharp edges and modelling its slopes.

Ski hiking can be organized for a day, or for few days, in medium or high mountains as an itinerant trek (raid), or based in a central location to explore the surrounding slopes (star-shaped itineraries).

Raids:

Over few days, from hut to hut, the trek allows us to discover a region, to appreciate the conviviality of the locals, and to plunge ourselves deep in this nature we all need to find a renewed mind peace and recharge the batteries.

Star-shaped itineraries:

Based in a hotel or in a comfortable mountain hut, every day will see us discover a new pass or summit nearby, only carrying a light load.

It offers the opportunity to initiate yourself to all security elements, to learn about the variability and stability of the snow, and to simulate avalanche rescue missions with safety equipment.

As for each mountain activity, my objective is always double: enjoy and learn, to progress towards autonomy.

Ideas around Briançon ?

The Combeynot massif, just above the famous Lautaret pass is perfect to enjoy the early season snowfall. Protected from the sun and the wind, the welcoming 600m high Laurichard comb is the ideal location to find the fresh snow of your dreams. If your are looking for ultimate sensations, the East and West summits of Combeynot offer 2 magnificent 45o slopes, 1200m high and accessible in good conditions.

The high valley of the Clarée -ski hiking paradise with many sunny slopes- offers numerous day trips and longer treks of up to 5 days difficult to choose from. Huts are comfortable and welcoming, and will shorten the climbs. The tour of the “Lac Blanc”, possible in a day for the fittest will be fully appreciated when stopping overnight in the Ricou hut.

Fresh snow has just covered the Fournel valley, inviting you to climb its superb Seyte ridge in the sun, and slalom back down between the larch trees in perfect conditions.

Another hiking paradise, during summer and winter, The Queyras has remained mostly untouched. The splendid South – North crossing of the Grand Queyras is an example. This 1000m climb offers a beautiful climb in the sun and an unforgettable descent that can even be completed with the additional climb of the Ségure summit (600 m) for the fittest.

A desire for Alpinism, during spring or winter: the ski lifts of Serre Chevalier provide a quick access to the Dôme de Monètier (3478 m for 900 m climb) with various descents, toward the Tabuc valley, the Glacier Blanc, or directly towards the Pré de Madame Carle via the Riou couloir.

Oisans has on offer many wild valleys to be discovered. One can reach the Chamois pass through the “Clot des Cavales” valley from the hut “les Alpes” (1100m climb) or directly from the village of Villar-d ’Arêne (1350 m ).
